ABOUT ABOUT

This is our inaugural New Works Festival. It features all World Premiere shows written by faculty and students. Each show is designed and Directed by Students and cast by the students themselves.

The four shows to be performed are Tituba: first Witch of Salem by: M. Griffin, The Prince of Sheep by: Madeline Mooney, Webcam by Luke Tyson & Lena Sharaha, Catchin' Coyote Slim by: Eiley Doyle

In Tituba, we follow a character that was portrayed in The Crucible by Arthur Miller. Tituba, a slave to the Parris family, is accused of witchcraft when a child mysteriously grows ill. This work focuses on the historical nature of slavery, misinterpretation of culture & the Salem Witch Trials and asks the question: Do we make our own villains?

In Prince of Sheep, a young son of a sheep farmer galivants around the world trying to be anything other than a sheep herder's son. He returns home to find that women are enthralled with his adventures but can he become confident enough in himself that he will risk another adventure?

In Webcam, we follow a stalker as he tries to befriend and get to know his latest stalking victim. How will she react to his intrusion and what will become of her?

In Catchin' Coyote Slim, we follow a Sheriff who is not exactly "bright," as he navigates the west to find the titular Coyote Slim. This hilarious farcical show offers laughs, fights and country accents!
